Biography

Emily Flathers is a teacher, performer, and songwriter
raised in a Minnesota home full of hymns and classical music.
After terrorizing Iowa's Luther College with piano and violin,
she came out to Arizona State for grad school and never left!
A child of '80's pop, Emily also counts as her influences:
Big Band, Broadway musicals, Gospel and Country.
She calls her eclectic style "Flatherspatter."
Now a state-certified music educator, Ms. Flathers has passed through
two levels each of Orff and Kodaly music methodology training
and is absolutely blessed to be in her sixth year
teaching music to K-8 students at the
Carden Traditional School of Surprise, AZ.
Emily also admits to being somewhat of a ham.
She has composed scores for local theater productions,
accompanied live interactive theater and silent films,
and played for Valley improv comedy groups A.M.U.S.E.,
Spontaneous Combustion, and ComedySportz Phoenix.
On weekends you can hear Emily on keyboard at the
Mystery Mansion Dinner Theater.
