Home in My Range For all my student singers always
This one popped out in my early days working with kids in elementary choirs.
Oh, give me a tone I can easily drone
Without scooping or dropping my chin
Where seldom is felt the necessity to belt
And smooth melody flows from within
Home, at home in my range
Where I don't have to sing low or high
Where never a squeak sallies forth from my beak
But sweet warbling floats to the sky
Oh give me a note that sits well in my throat
That I don't have to tiptoe to sing
Oh, toss me a pitch that won't make my neck itch
Is that such a difficult thing?
Home, at home in my range
Where the intervals fall where they may
Where never a squawk makes the listener balk
And my voice will be healthy all day
