The Tale of Scarabella Hatter

- a parody on "Minnie the Moocher" as sung by Cab Calloway

Music has the power to draw us out of ourselves into something GREAT!

Now here's the tale of Scarabella Hatter

Her self-esteem was torn and tattered

She was the shyest, saddest girl

Until she found a sound that rocked her world

Walking down the street, Scara heard a radio

The local jazz station played this audio

A gal named Ella playing with words

And Ella could sing as free as a bird

            Hi-dee hi-dee hi-dee hi, etc...

Scara thought, "Man, that Ella is trippin'

Up and down and all around her voice is slippin'

Maybe I could try this thing!"

So Scara cleared her throat and she started to sing

            Hi-dee hi-dee hi-dee hi, etc...

Soon enough a crowd had gathered

They surrounded Scarabella Hatter

They clapped and hollered, "Sing it again!"

So Scara let it fly and they all joined in

            Hi-dee hi-dee hi-dee hi, etc...

Now they call her Scara the Scatter

She sings and swings like it just don't matter

She has fun with every note

And jazzy scatty sounds flow out of her throat

            Hi-dee hi-dee hi-dee hi, etc...

That's the tale of Scara the Scatter!
